General FAQs

Rochelle Strooh is a certified graduate of the Canine Instructor Academy, with a solid background in obedience training and behaviour modification. Dedicated to CPD (Continued Professional Development), she regularly advances her skills through respected organisations such as the Dog Training College and No Bad Dogs.

Rochelle follows a balanced, relationship-focused approach rooted in clarity, fairness, and results. As a PRAMA trainer (Positive Reinforcement with Minimal Aversives), she believes in rewarding good choices while ensuring there are appropriate consequences for unwanted behaviours. Her methods are tailored, thoughtful, and designed to support both dog and owner in building lasting, respectful communication.

PRAMA stands for Positive Reinforcement and Minimal Aversives. This approach is primarily rooted in positive reinforcement—rewarding behaviours we want more of—while also recognising the value of fair and minimal consequences when boundaries are tested. Drawing from all four quadrants of operant conditioning, this method provides dogs with clear feedback, helping them make better choices while maintaining trust and understanding.

Our Philosophy

Our training approach is rooted in respect and balance. Modern behavioural science shows that animals, including dogs, learn most effectively through reinforcement of desired behaviours, combined with clear, consistent boundaries. Encouragement builds motivation and confidence, while structure provides clarity and security. This balance helps dogs make better choices, reduces stress, and deepens the bond of trust and communication between dog and human
